Wonder - Reading

I was able to understand the meanings of different types of language features eg. personification, idioms.

I also used sticky notes to help me remember what each language feature meant. This was a bit confusing but I got the hang of it.

Next time I'll try and use these language features in my writing.

Ghost - Making a Prediction

Walt : Make a prediction based on the cover and blurb of Ghost by Jason Reynolds.

My Reflection

I able to look carefully at the picture, we had think about the front cover and why we think it's yellow,we also had to found out why is there is a boy running on the front cover of ghost.

I found this easy and hard at the same time because doing research is kinda easy because I could understand it and there were a lot of facts about him, and I also found it hard because I didn't understand some of the questions.

Next time I would like to found more information about Jason Reynolds because I found it interesting.

 

The Queen's Secret

I think the author wanted me to understand that it is important to listen when people tell you things, especially when it comes to secrets.  Telling secrets is maybe not okay because in the story the queen's secret got past on but it was the wrong message.
Next time i will try harder to understand my WALT.

Word Clarification

Learning Reflection:

Doing this I found new word I thought I knew the word but when I looked into the Dictionary it said something else.

Next time I will use a Dictionary and show someone who knows

Welcome to my blog this is about the witches and the Nazi it kinda like talking about the same thing like what there have in comin. I find this easy because Mrs H showed us a video about Hitler and his crew. Then Mrs H and Mrs N was reading the Witches to us so everyone in the class should know. We have been learning to read out loud using expression. We need to look at  the punctuation to help us use expression. When there is an exclamation we make it sound louder and interesting. We read a play to practise  and then recorded it on puppet pals. I found this easy because when it recording all you need to do is read the book well it recording and Mrs M is moving it around...

My next step to read more fluently.

Finding and Summarising Information

My Reflection

I have been learning to find and summarise information.  I found this hard because it took a long time to do and it was hard to find the information.  My next step is to keep learning this skill.

Recognising and Understanding Prefixes

My reflection
I have been learning to recognise and understand prefixes. I now know that when a prefix like un is added to the beginning of word it changes the meaning of the word.  This can help me understand what words mean.  I found this tricky because I have never learnt about this before.  My next step is to keep working on this.

I.a.l.t to find similarities and differences in a text.We have been reading about Chinese new year.We used venn diagram to compare Chinese and New Zealand year. I found this easy because I knew where to put the information in the venn diagram. My next step is to find similarities and differences in other books.

I am learning to summarise.  It mins talking about the main idea.
